A new commission by Mia Boe is included in the group exhibition And Still I Rise at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Incorporating sculpture, installation, and painting, the presentation features a site-specific wall drawing surrounding an assembly of painted Burmese longyi fabrics, each sculpturally formed to figurate and embody the space.
And Still I Rise, curated by Dr Natalie Seiz (Curator of Asian Art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales), brings together a group of culturally diverse women artists living in Australia. Works draw on lived experience and inherited memory, offering fresh perspectives on identity, history and belonging.
