Gian Manik’s solo exhibition Fantasy Chamber is now open at Linden New Art in St Kilda, Melbourne. The exhibition follows on from Manik receiving the major new biennial art prize JUNCTURE, through which two contemporary Australian artists are awarded $20,000 to support their practice and develop a new work to be presented as a solo exhibition at Linden New Art.
Manik’s exhibition is made and presented in conversation with Linden’s grand Victorian architecture, taking a collage-like approach to extend an ongoing investigation into queer and Eastern identity, art history, and self-portraiture.
