Zane Edwards “Eventually, I’ll Confess, I’ve Just Been Walking Into A Loving Nowhere”

1 – 22 February 2025

Zane Edwards is an artist whose work is fuelled by a constant, tender longing—an embodied search for connection, a reckoning with restlessness, and a refusal to relinquish intimacy in a world that often demands its surrender. Their practice explores the space where intimacy and faith coexist with the knowledge that connection is not a fixed point, but something that unfolds as we reach for it. Their work invites us to feel the quiet power of this ongoing forage, where the act of longing itself becomes the form of connection.

For Edwards, connection is not a singular moment but a passage, always shifting and deepening with each gesture, each form. It’s a pursuit that doesn’t demand resolution, but instead asks us to inhabit the space of the search itself—the act of constructing to find meaning not just in closeness, but in the reaching toward it. In this search, the desire and the connection are not opposites but intertwined, each defining the other in an endless, tender exchange. Edwards’ practice invites us to look closer—every photograph, every object, every mark, devotion and faith pulse like a second heart. Here, every form is a prayer, every gesture is a hymn. It is a practice rooted in the unspoken, the felt, and the deeply personal—an ongoing exploration of what it means to be seen, to be loved, and to love in return.

“I stumble, yet again, at something I’ve always known to do.”
