Jane Trengove, White Noise: power and corruption @ the project space

THE PROJECT SPACE IS OPEN FRIDAY & SATURDAY, 1pm - 5pm

Jane Trengove works across a range of visual art media including painting, installation, collaboration and the coordination/curation of visual art projects. Jane employs her skills in painting to examine the impact of western traditions, customs and behaviours on contemporary culture.

For this current series of works, which Trengove began in 2006, we see the continuation of her engagement with contentious political and social issues. During these last two years Trengove explored the disturbing realms of law, media and finance and the damaging scenarios at play in the corporate world. Trengove presents a series of images sourced from news reportage; each symbolic of the countless manipulative figures in positions of power and wealth. White Noise comes to fruition amidst the reality of the financial turmoil we now face.
